Sheila has been working with children since 2004 in various settings such as day homes, daycares as well as the school system as an aid. She received her Early Childcare Education diploma from Bow Valley College through their online program. She believes that working on her diploma a little at a time made her a better educator because she was able to put new skills into practice as she learned them. As she knows first hand what it is like to have a child who needs extra support, her passion is working with these children to help them succeed. Sheila has been with BrightPath since 2015, starting out in the classroom, moving up to Assistant Director and now Centre Director.
Sheila’s favourite part about being a BrightPath Director is meeting all the wonderful families and children that come through the centre doors. She loves to support and help the staff and families in any way she can while creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Sheila strongly believes that every child is special, has the right to grow, no matter what obstacles they face. As an educator, she believes it is her duty to build up the self-esteem of children, helping them to discover just how wonderful they are.
Shelia and her husband have four wonderful children and have been living in Airdrie for since 2011. She loves to be outdoors camping and working with her beautiful horses.
